May Game Release Dates: These are the biggest games releasing this month

May is shaping up to be a packed month for video game releases, with several major titles finally hitting store shelves. After months of speculation, the racing simulation series returns with Forza Horizon 6, promising a new open-world setting and a fresh roster of cars. Early previews suggest the game will push the visual fidelity of current consoles even further, though official details on the map location remain under wraps until launch day.

On the horror front, Supermassive Games is delivering Directive 8020, a sci-fi thriller set aboard a doomed spaceship. The studio is known for its branching narratives and cinematic scares, and this title looks to continue that tradition with a heavy dose of paranoia and alien dread. Players will have to make life-or-death decisions as the ship's systems fail one by one.

For fans of survival and exploration, Subnautica 2 is finally exiting early access with its full 1.0 release. The sequel expands on the original's deep-sea terror with new biomes, creatures, and a more robust crafting system. Early testers have praised the improved base-building mechanics and the sheer scale of the underwater map.

And for a change of pace, Lego Batman returns with a new adventure that blends the Dark Knight's world with classic Lego humor. The game reportedly covers multiple eras of Batman's history, from the campy 1960s TV show to the grim modern films. It is expected to be a family-friendly hit, offering co-op play and plenty of collectibles.

With these four heavy hitters arriving in the same month, May is likely to be one of the busiest periods for new games this year.
