A new collaboration between Casio and The Pokémon Company has surfaced online, and it marks a notable shift for the line. According to leaked images and details, this upcoming G-Shock watch is the first full-size model to emerge from their partnership, and it leans heavily into nostalgia for the original video games.
Unlike previous limited-edition Pokémon G-Shocks, which often featured bright character colors or Pikachu motifs, this design takes a more subtle approach. The leaked photos show a classic black resin body with a digital display. The real hook is the throwback to the Game Boy era. The watch face reportedly uses a pixelated font and graphics that mimic the interface of the early Pokémon titles. The iconic "Pokémon" logo appears in the same style as the 1996 games, and the creature shown on the screen is rendered in monochrome pixels.
The most significant detail is the price point. Early reports suggest this model will be more affordable than previous limited releases, which often retailed for several hundred dollars. While an official release date has not been announced, the leak points to a launch later this year. For collectors who missed out on earlier, pricier drops, this could be a chance to own a piece of gaming history without breaking the bank. The watch is expected to retain standard G-Shock durability, including water resistance and shock absorption, making it both a nostalgic piece and a functional tool.
