Moss: The Forgotten Relic Lets Me Fix My Biggest Gaming Mistake

Moss: The Forgotten Relic Lets Me Fix My Biggest Gaming Mistake

I sold my PlayStation VR right before the good stuff came out. That was years ago, and I have regretted it ever since. I missed Moss, the charming little adventure where you guide a tiny mouse named Quill through a storybook world. I also missed its sequel, Moss: Book II, which critics praised even more. Now, with the release of Moss: The Forgotten Relic, I finally have a chance to make things right.

The Forgotten Relic is not a brand new game. It is a compilation that bundles both Moss and Moss: Book II together, with some extra content and improvements. For someone like me who skipped the entire series, this is perfect. I get to experience Quill's journey from the beginning, without having to hunt down old VR hardware or worry about compatibility. The game works on modern headsets, including PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest, and PC VR.

What makes Moss special is how it blends direct control with a god-like perspective. You play as a reader who can reach into the world and help Quill solve puzzles, fight enemies, and uncover secrets. The little mouse has real personality. She waves at you, gives you a thumbs up, and reacts with genuine fear or joy. It is easy to forget she is just a collection of polygons and code.

I remember reading reviews when the first Moss came out. People called it a must-play for VR owners. I ignored them. I thought VR was a passing fad, so I sold my headset while it still had some value. That was a mistake. Now, years later, I am ready to sit down, put on a headset, and finally meet Quill. The Forgotten Relic is not just a game collection. It is my chance to erase a regret that has been nagging me for half a decade.
